Beverly Hills, CA: Erin Lareau, award winning artist, announces the completion of a ten foot tall, Swarovski crystal encrusted, Les Paul inspired guitar as part of the Guitar Town Sunset Strip public art exhibition. Lareau was one of 26 nationally-acclaimed visual artists selected to create a guitar for the project.
Erin Lareau has exhibited her dazzling works at art galleries and museums around the world as well as exclusive shops including Tiffany’s and Geary’s of Beverly Hills.
"I work in the medium of fantasy." Said Lareau, artist to the stars. "And what could be more romantic or dream inspiring than glittering jewels and crystals? I recreate the world in sparkles, adding my own touch of whimsy in the process. It was a natural for me to create my own version of the iconic Les Paul guitar because I've been so close to the music industry throughout my career, working with Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Spinal Tap, Orianthi, and countless other stars and musicians to create one of a kind costumes and glittering microphones and set pieces. I've done crystal covered guitars before, but this is a ten foot masterpiece!"
The oversized Gibson guitar sculptures are strategically placed along the 1.6-mile Sunset Strip in West Hollywood and will be on display through 2011. Erin's Candy Stripe Katy Perry Guitar is at 9200 Sunset Boulevard in front of restaurant Boa. Around 3:00 pm is magic hour when the sun hits, and it dazzles to the max.
Erin also bejeweled a playable Candy Stripe Guitar for upcoming Katy Perry Tour.
